Do/See

What caught my eye and maybe yours too
Substack Stuff Lindsey Likes
Substack is a new arena without the ads (for now). My friend Lindsey's Substack is a delight to read, with a dash of nostalgia and self-reflection. Give it a read!
Imagine Peace Tower Illuminated
Created in the memory of John Lennon, this beam lights throughout the year. Send your own wish to the tower!
Night Watch Book
2024 Pulitzer Prize winner, this is a beautifully rendered novel set in West Virginia’s Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in the aftermath of the Civil War.

Hear

Candy for your ears and soul
Who wants to listen to work, outside of work, right? Chris Do makes creatives and marketers perk their ears up with a fantastic array of topics on his podcast. And he makes it all sound cool. A plus!
Pablo Neruda Read by Ethan Hawke
Poetry is made better by a great delivery, and who better with this short and gem of a poem by Pablo Neruda than Troy Dyer himself, Ethan Hawke.
Celine's French in Five Minutes
During covid, the Tiny Desk musicians took the stage from their chosen location. Phoebe Bridgers and her guys landed in the most genius backgdrop.
Proofing Playlist
I can't listen to lyrics if I'm in crunch mode, so here's a playlist that helps me focus and not get caught singing George Michael out loud.

Eat

Recommendations to eats, hacks, and inside the kitchen
Try Binsu!
A very scrumptious full-bodied Spanish Wine with a great label to indicate age of the grapes inside, and price-range. A crowd-pleaser and special a the same time.
Little Spain in NYC
Along the bottom of the high line in NYC, is a great food court area by Chef José Andrés filled with all things cava, jamon, and bread. Yum!
Daily Provisions Cruller
There are few desserts I'll walk for, and by God this is one of them. Daily Provisions do not disappoint and they have a great area for eating outside.
Ooodles of Coffee
My heart warms that this family owned and run coffee shop, still is in operation with a wall full of beans, spices and teas. A nice staple of the North End.
PBjs are gross to the world
I was reminded of the time I made my French host mom one, and she nearly fell over as she saw me grab the ingredients. Apparently, not a universal love.
